Open House

kakak ipar dan new born baby, Harraz

my kids and their cousins, tengah melayan Ice Age 3 kat dalam bilik

sahabat CA, Zatil, kak Ani and kak Siti (tengah riba Fathi) with her son, Ikhwan and abang ipar (kat belakang)

kak Siti and her hubby and son, kawan hubby (kat belakang ngan wife and anak-anak)

sahabat CA, Tabarani and wife, Lis serta anak, Iman and kawan hubby and wife

sahabat CA, Mustaim and his son

sahabat CA, Zahid and his son, Ziyad

tetamu terakhir hari tu, sahabat cawangan ngan isteri masing-masing, menutup tirai Open House pada hari tersebut....

Alhamdulillah.... segalanya berjalan lancar.... syukur sangat-sangat coz dapat berjumpa ngan sahabat handai, especially yang dah lama tak jumpa... mudah-mudahan tahun-tahun berikutnya kami dapat jemput lebih ramai lagi.... walaupun dua tiga hari lepas tu masih keletihan, hinggakan tak larat nak masak untuk marhaban semalam, tapi rasa berbaloi sangat-sangat....

The Worst Day Ever!!

Anis was having fun with her Milk Project, doing some shampooing and facial treatment... Fathi joined along, as a 'Model'...

Fathi, clueless... me? speechless...

Was feeling very sleepy this morning.... huargh.... still do... didn't get enough sleep lately... the kids always went to bed around midnight during Ramadhan, coz after coming home from Tarawih with my hubby, they stayed up either to finish their 'Kad Raya' project, watch Barney or play. So, when Amal, Anis and Fathi went to sleep this morning (Aisyah was at school), I joined along (",), hoping to get some sleep for an hour or so.

What surprised me is... when I woke up about an hour later, I saw some milk powder on the bed, along with a bottle and a milk container. Thinking that it was the only spilt, I was quite ok with it, even though I had to change the bed-sheet, again, after I've just got it changed last night! Still, not too much to do, just change the bed-sheet and wash it, that's all! But what I didn't know is something else was happening....

Amal was sleeping beside me, so, I asked her. When she said, it wasn't her, I rushed to the kitchen. Guess what I found! Anis was rubbing Fathi's head with milk powder!! As if she was shampooing Fathi's hair. Ya Allah! I was speechless.

Didn't know what to say to her. To yell at her, it wasn't the best way to teach her. She didn't know what she did was wrong. To smile at her? argh... was too surprised... finally, I picked her up, put her in the toilet (where she likes to play the most), left her there, and started the cleaning. I had to mop the floor all the way from the kitchen to my bedroom. Not just that, I also had to change the bed-sheet, wash it, and re-wash my clothes which was already washed, only now covered with milk!

argh.... so exhausted!! Today is the worst day ever!

Normally Anis would ask for her milk, and if I was asleep, she would wake me up. She would then climb the chair to get her bottle and her milk container from the cabinet, give it to me, and then put the chair back where it belongs - beside the table. But today... didn't know what was in her mind. Probably she just wanted to try to make herself some milk. Kids at her age, tend to try doing things on their own. Letting go my anger on her, won't give any help with her learning process.

Anytime, should any of you out there encounter with the same problem, try to keep calm and please be patience. You'll be needing a lot of PATIENCE. Kids between the age of 2-5 are still in learning process. They don't know what is right and what is wrong. We are the one who's gonna teach them doing the right things and doing things right. To make them a good person, we have to show them how by being a good person ourselves.

Learning Process

Asal nak vacuum jer, mesti ada ramai yang nak membantu.... Alhamdulillah... mudah-mudahan rajin tolong papa mama sampai besar, insya Allah....

Sebenarnya, macam ni lah anak-anak nak belajar buat sesuatu.... dengan cara mereka bermain dan menolong kita buat kerja-kerja rumah.... kekadang tu rasa macam serabut gak, especially time kita nak cepat... memang la mereka sebenarnya suka menolong sebab nak bermain, budak-budak memang macam tu.... tapi sebenarnya itu bagus sebab dalam bermain, dapat memupuk sikap saling bantu membantu dalam diri mereka.... kita la yang kena ajar mereka cara yang betul untuk melakukan sesuatu perkara....

Amal and Anis, always berebut nak tolong vacuum

Fathi nak belajar A B C ngan 1 2 3... Aisyah tolong ajar

Anis pun nak tolong ajar

Origami

ball... got it from the web....

A week ago, after Aisyah got home from school, she told me that one of her friends gave her a paper plane. She said her friend had lots of them. I told her to make some for her friends too. She said she didn't know how to make one. So I promised to teach her.

Everyday she kept asking me when would I teach her. I told her that we need to buy some colored papers first. Then she kept asking for the papers.

When we finally went shopping on weekend, she was so excited that she kept asking for the papers all the way to the shopping complex.

As soon as we got home from shopping (as we got in the house), she kept bugging me, asking me to help her with the paper plane. Oh Aisyah.... she couldn't wait to try new things, always... I told her to wait.

So, after I got changed, tidy up a bit, I made her a plane, a purple one. She then tried to make one. Not just that, she made lots of it. Too many that I thought maybe I could teach her to do something else. Otherwise the house would be messed with planes. So, I googled for origami. Found an interesting site http://dev.origami.com/diagram.cfm .

I tried to make an elephant, a vampire, a unikorn and a boat (photos are not taken yet. Will upload when available). She was so happy. Till today, everytime when she woke up, she would ask for a new figure. Got myself a new routine now... oh boy....

Jigsaw Puzzle - Good For Brain

Aisyah loves jigsaw puzzle. My hubby bought a set each for her and Amal months ago. She did very well. We only taught her once how to start. But Alhamdulillah she managed to complete it on her own without us helping her. We were surprised to see the 80-piece puzzle completed in short time!

After seeing her doing the same puzzle over and over again, I decided to get her another set. I was thinking of buying the same puzzle that she has only with different picture. But then when we were having lunch at KFC, I saw the KFC puzzle set. It's a 100-piece puzzle. At first I hesitated coz I was afraid that she won't be able to complete it. But then, I thought we could just give it a try. I mean, that way we could train her to be more creative.

this is the KFC puzzle... 100 pieces... completed by Aisyah on her own... Alhamdulillah....

Amal... still learning to complete a puzzle... she's not the kind that can sit still... she tends to get bored... she's more to running, jumping or spinning....

Jigsaw puzzle is good for kids' brain coz to complete it, they need to focus on the picture and need to determine which piece suits the empty space. They need to be creative. That's why we tend to let the kids play with it rather than with non-educational toys.

Shopping @ SOGO

Two weeks ago, on the second day of Ramadhan, we went to SOGO to get some new clothes for our kids. There weren't too many choices with affordable price. There were beautiful clothes, lots of them, but none with low price. I mean, for a simple shirt (excluding pants) it costs around RM20-30! What the....

Finally, we just got the girls a simple dress each and 2 new shirts for Fathi (no pants). We spent around RM200 that day. Soo expensive!.... and soo not satisfying....

the kids were exhausted and hungry, so we got them some chickens... gulp....

let me out! let me out!... hehe... can't let Anis walk on her own... she would got lost coz she likes to wander around...

next time, we would just go to The Store, though not much choice, but the price is still ok, not too expensive.....

Campus Life... really miss it!

Couple of days ago, when I was FB ing, I found some of my old friends from university... boy I was glad. I quickly sent a request to add them to my list....

Campus life was fun! I can still remember the day when I received the letter from UiTM. I was a bit frustrated though coz I was expecting to hear from UTM Skudai. I was actually hoping to join ATMA at UTM coz I really like 'military' sort of things... hehe... so I decided NOT to accept the offer. Plus, my sister was getting married in the same week I need to register! There was no way I would miss that day!

But then, after my sister's wedding, I had a second thought. I accepted the offer coz my dad had spent a lot for my sis' wedding. And I wasn't going to have him pay more for my studies at a private college (which I applied before). So, I called UiTM to inform them that I was going to be late, and I won't be joining the MWS (Minggu Wawasan Siswa) due to some family business. I was a bit worried actually... I was afraid that I won't be accepted for being late. But Alhamdulillah, I still had a chance.

So, days after my sis' wedding, my parents sent me to UiTM Machang, Kelantan. For the first time I was apart from my family... for my whole life, I had never been far from them... I was born in KT, grew up in KT, and went to school in KT... spent my whole life in KT.... so, I was a bit nervous... plus, the day my parents sent me there was the first day of LIPB (Latihan Intensif Pelajar Baru) right after MWS. I was a bit surprised coz I thought I missed all the 'ragging'.

Alhamdulillah the LIPB only for couple days... and there was no 'ragging' like my brother used to talk about... hehe... those days had passed.... no more 'ragging' freshies.... yeay!

For almost 3 years I spent my life at UiTM (June 2000 - April 2003), I had been through a lot... challenges, hard times... learnt new things.... found new friends.... gained new experiences... not forgetting the fun I had with all my friends... really miss those days...life with no worries... well, at least not as much as now...

Can still remember one night, when I helped my friend with her project (clay project)... we stayed up all night to finish it... and the next day, we went out to KB, without taking a nap, not even a minute! We thought, we could take a nap in the bus. But guess what! There was no empty seat! We had to stand up all way from Machang to KB... and not just that, we were standing at the front row, right beside the driver! Still, I fell asleep! Standing! Can you believe that! Alhamdulillah I didn't fall off.

Hmm... so much fun then... wish I could have those days back....

Now... having the chance to meet with old friends, is something that I would never ever miss! Especially my best friend. Friendship is forever! Really hope that one day, we could all gather along, talk about old days, laugh about old memories.... really really miss my friends.... where are you guys? miss you all!

Things to Have @ Home

these are among the important things that we should keep in our home... especially the one with kids.... a digital thermometer to monitor the body temperature in case of fever, Kool Fever for fast cooling, a bottle of paracetamol syrup and a syringe

for precaution and prevention, these should be included in our kids' daily meal... Scott's Emulsion and vitamin C for the immune system, Multivitamin for body strength and Honey for fast cough relief

Anis' Birthday Wish Comes True

This car is what Anis had been dreaming for...

... finally, dream comes true... hubby bought this for her 2nd birthday...

she rides it all day long... happily...

first time she rode a similar car to this, was at her cousin's house.... she even parked it against the wall before going to the toilet, assuming that no one can take it... and when she found out that it went missing afterwards (her sisters took a ride), she would cry... and when she went to sleep, she hold it tight, like a teddy bear! oh Anis....

Musim Buah Di Kampung

Alhamdulillah....

Potluck - Durian

Last week we managed to held a reunion at our home on Sunday.... the theme was 'Potluck Durian' coz it's Durian season... yeay!

but only few could come.... kak Siti Norsiha and family, Samhan, and Tabarani and family.... they're all our friends from U.... we were very excited to meet them again after a long time.... but we didn't get the chance to capture the moment in our camera coz we were busy with our kids....

these are the only pictures I took.... my kids before the reunion and the dessert which I made a day before the reunion... hehe

Karnival Sinar Islam @ Damansara Damai

Last weekend there was a carnival being held here at Damansara Damai known as Karnival Sinar Islam, and for the first time, my baby girl, Aisyah entered a Nasyid Competition.... boy I was sooo excited!.... she was too.... everyday after coming home from school she would talk about it....

but unfortunately, that day, I didn't get the chance to watch her singing on stage with her friends (5-year old group)....we went out that morning and got home late....then my hubby sent her to school to gather up with her teachers and school mates while I prepared the rest of our kids to go out....but then, my hubby didn't get the chance to pick me up coz he was on duty (he was assigned as a photographer for the event)....and when I finally got there, the result was already being announced....I was sooo devastated....

Aisyah's group didn't win coz all other groups were 6-year old kids....her group got number 8 out of 8...hahaha

pictures taken by my hubby...

the next day, there was a coloring competition and Aisyah really loves to color....but again, she didn't win coz we got there late and she didn't get to finish her coloring....

I told her that it was OK not to win coz winning is not the most important thing when competing, but the enjoyment of participating in such event is more important....
