Working Moms vs Housewives

One of my friends once said to me that she is too busy working when I asked her why did she quit running her business. She was very good at it. She also said that she has no free time coz she needs to make sure that her house is clean and tidy, her clothes are washed and folded, her husband and 2 kids are served, and she's about to have another baby. So, she's not willing to continue her business coz she's tired doing all those things. In her opinion, I'm in other hand is able to run a business coz I'm just a 'housewife', that I have a lot of free time. At first, I agreed. But then, I start to think, is it?

Let's think for a moment...

~ Compared to her, I have 5 kids, she has only 2... in the next few months, she'll be having another 1 which make it only 3. Still, I have more.
~ She said her kids differ only a year or a year and half between one another, same goes with me... my kids differ from only 14 to 18 months (except for the eldest and the 2nd one coz I had a miscarriage in between). So, we're even.
~ We both have no maid, but she's living right next to her parents' house, and she told me that she often send her kids over to her parents so that she could clean up her house or to get some rest. Me? I have to do all my houseworks by myself while taking care of my kids on my own.
~ I've seen her kids and they weren't active, they were easy to handle with. My kids in other hand, are soooo active, and by saying that, I mean really extremely active - 24x7 trashing, jumping, running, climbing, crying, yelling, shouting, messing and fighting. All these in my daily life, from 6am to 11pm or 12 midnight.
~ She thought I'm not working, well guess what, I'm working, from home. Yes I can choose my own time to work, but with 5 kids, try guessing how many hours I can work? Working at home is so much different from working at the office. At home, I can't concentrate on my work. It's hard for me to complete my task. Meanwhile, at the office, she is able to concentrate.
~ She said that everyday she needs to make sure that her house is clean and tidy, her clothes are washed and folded, her husband and 2 kids are served. Well, don't I? I too have a house to take care of, clothes to wash and fold, dishes to wash, food to prepare, kids to raise and watch over, husband to serve and look after, and compared to her, I have to do everything on my own, unaided.

I'm not trying to brag or whatsoever, there are many housewives out there and they all are much much better than me, much stronger than me, much greater than me. The reason why I'm writing this is because a lot of people out there often think that we, housewives are living an easy life at home. That we have no worries, and even worse, that we have a lot of free time.

If I only have one kid, I may have a lot of free time. I may have even spend half of my day sleeping or resting. But I don't, I have 5. But let me tell you, I may have a stressful life, I may have no time to rest, I may have less time to go shopping, but I'm happy with all I have, and I'm willing to spend whatever free time I have to run my business for the sake of my kids, because I love them so much, and I want to give them the best.

I believe, every and each of you out there, especially mothers, couldn't agree less, coz every mother wants only the best for their kids, and they are willing to sacrifice for them. Your kids are the REASON to give the best of you, not the EXCUSE to limit your abilities.

Love your kids by giving them the best...

To all MOTHERS out there, working or not, you are the BEST just by being a MOTHER!

Colin Morgan Talks The 'Merlin' Finale

cult_merlin_s3_merlin.jpg The third series of Merlin is heading towards a thrilling conclusion, with the first installment of a two-part finale airing this Saturday night. Eager to get the inside scoop, we caught up with Merlin himself, Colin Morgan, to chat about the final episodes, what's to come in series four and how it felt to look 80 years old. Warning - may contain mild spoilers!

What have been some of your highlights from series three?
"Definitely one of the biggest highlights for me was having Warwick Davis work on the show. I'm a huge Willow fan, so it was great to have him on it. There's also some pretty iconic moments that happen in the third series, but are still to come in the final two episodes. Obviously I'm aware of the Arthurian legends and I've read lots about them, but to see those iconic images being recreated was definitely a huge highlight as well. Of course, all the locations that we get to go to are brilliant. There were some new ones we visited this year which were just stunning. There's loads of highlights, but that's all I can think of at the moment!"

Is it exciting for you as the show introduces more elements from the legends, such as the knights of the round table?
"Totally. When I first started, throughout series one and two, I exhausted all the literature of Arthurian legend and Merlin. To be so aware of it and be working in that world, then seeing it all materialise, knowing that it's so rooted in history and that you're continuing this legend that's been retold throughout the years, is brilliant. It's hugely exciting. I haven't become complacent at all. I still act like a bit of a geek when I see it all happening!"

How was it wearing the make-up for episode ten when you were disguised as the old wizard?
"Brilliant. It was really good to get a chance to do something completely different and play a different character. I got a chance to have a bit of fun with that. The first time we put the make-up on, it took a little over five hours. Keeping it on all day, your face does feel a bit fatigued! But it's fun experimenting with it and seeing what you can get away with, knowing that it's not your face. Although I enjoyed every single second of it, it did feel good to have it peeled off at the end of the day!"

Merlin: S03E10 - Old Merlin
What hints can you give us about what's coming up in the final two episodes?
"Huge iconic elements from the legends are happening. You'll see the formation of a certain famous band of knights, possibly seated at some form of table! There's also elements from the past. Things that have been buried since season one are going to resurface, literally! You're also going to see the kingdom and those who rule it overthrown and taken over by a dark force. Camelot is in dire straits. All the heroes are forced to form a vigilante gang to fight against it all."

Will we see any returning characters from the show's past?
"Absolutely. Some characters who haven't appeared since series two [come back]. Lancelot's returning and Gwaine makes another appearance. There's also other characters from the past with an emotional link to Merlin. Emilia Fox returns as Morgause - she has a big hand in what happens. Tom Ellis, who plays Cenred, also appears. All the evil ones are coming back, but we've got some goodies on our side, as well!"

It seems like there's big changes ahead for the show. Does this feel like the end of an era?
"It kind of does. It seems like things would be completely different, going into a fourth series. Having come out of the crisis at the end of the final episode, Camelot's going to be a very different place. You see Arthur acting more like a king. Whether that means he's really on the brink of taking the throne, I don't know. But it's certainly feeling very close. Merlin is also going to be a changed person. It definitely does feel like once this hurdle is jumped, Camelot is going to be a changed place."

How would you like the character of Merlin to evolve in series four?
"Of course, this is a tale about growing up, and you never want your character to grow up too fast. Certainly the producers like to keep it as a slow boiler. I'm always keen to see Merlin making more mature decisions and that's something that they've been focusing on throughout the third series. He can't be as naive as he was when the show first began. He's been hurt too many times and been through too much. I'd like to see my Merlin taking on more of the aspects of the Merlin of legend, with a wise head on his shoulders. I'd like to see Merlin become less naive and also concentrate more on his powers. I don't think we've seen him do enough cool magical stuff. I want more cool stuff to do!"

Do you know yet when series four will begin filming?
"We start again next year, I think around March time."

Do you have any other projects lined up during the break?
"The film that I did last year, called Parked, has just been selected from the Torino Film Festival in Italy, so I'm going to that at the end of the month. I'll also be promoting another film that I did, called Island. There's nothing set in stone yet in terms of other work, so I'm enjoying my rest at the moment, having come to the end of the eight-month Merlin madness!"

* From Digital Spy

Can't believe it's going to end next week... then, have to wait for a year before season 4 is aired. Why can't they make 20+ episodes rather than just 13 eps?.... hmm....

Homemade Chocolate - NZ ChocolateLovers

It's 3:44am and I'm not yet asleep coz I've just finished making these... cute isn't it? heheh...

Actually I have few orders of chocolate oreos from hubby's office mate and I couldn't make it this morning coz I was attending a Beauty Clinic (will talk about it later ya!). Then, I had to wait till all my kids are asleep before getting started. If not, who knows what would happen... huhu...

Then, to fill up my time, I started my second project, Homemade Chocs... this is actually my second trial. The first one was quite a failure coz I made it according to the recipe I got from the net. This time, I took an advice from a shopkeeper. It was nice of her to share with me the recipe. No need to attend a class, heheh... Not that I don't want to, but for the time being, still have no opportunity to attend any baking class, have to learn from books... huhu...

Anyway, the chocs turn out to be good. Finally, something worth of trying... syukur Alhamdulillah...

Homemade Chocolate

I've been searching for chocolate recipes for ages... and finally... my own homemade chocolate! Since my kids love chocolates so much, I would save a lot by making my own... hehehe... here's my first attempt... enjoy...

though it doesn't look so nice, but the kids love it!... need to improve the technique a bit...

need to work on the design... hmm....

Not bad for a first timer ey... googled the recipe in the net... pretty easy, no need to take a course... but to gain the knowledge and better technique, it's better to attend a course... me? I'll stick to the books and the net for the time being, but will surely attend a course one day... now, I just wanna focus on my kids, job and business coz that's what important to me...
